Spring Valley Park is owned and maintained by the City of Kalamazoo. It covers 185 acres on the city’s northeast side bordering Parchment and Kalamazoo Township. The park has a beautiful lake and abounds in natural beauty and wildlife. Many recent updates make the park popular for family picnics, walkers/runners using the handicapped accessible trailways, children using the two handicapped accessible playgrounds, people interested in viewing/studying the parks natural beauty and wildlife. You will also find many fishing enthusiasts casting from the shoreline and bringing in small boats.The addition of the Kalamazoo Valley Trailway going through the park links it to an exciting new trail system.
The course features an opening loop across a footbridge in a unique and beautiful park setting. The course is closed to vehicle traffic. There is a 23 foot total elevation change along the course. Whether you plan to run or walk, you will enjoy the surrounding trees, water, flowers, and wildlife. This is a setting that will draw you back many times throughout the year.
